Mission

My mission is to contribute to and provide aid for the personal healing of men, women, teens, and children battling the effects of trauma, addictions, or mental health conditions. My purpose is to create a compassionate, non-judgmental environment that provides support to the individuals on their journey to the cultivation of a positive, empowered mindset. I consider it a privilege to be able to help individuals on their steps to self-improvement, providing support and understanding every step of the way.

About Me

Serving Patients Since 2010

I have over 10 years of experience working in the mental health field. I have worked in a variety of settings including NYC homeless shelters, outpatient, private practice, addiction centers, and in school settings with children and adolescents undergoing behavioral problems. I have had experience working with a broad range and severity of clinical issues. I have the most experience working with anxiety, depression, life transitions, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia diagnosis and dual diagnosis, MICA patients, complex trauma/abuse, and children. I also have experience with intellectual/developmental disabilities, mild autism, and immigration/acculturation issues.

I use person-centered, holistic, cognitive-behavioral techniques, multicultural, and integrative approaches in treatment. This means I begin where you are and tailor the treatment approach to your needs while being sensitive to how your individual cultural identities and lifestyle choices impact your experience. I primarily use evidence-based techniques including cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused counseling. However, I do incorporate psychoanalytic approaches to counseling, as well.

I would describe my style as warm and supportive, and I am ready to help you tackle your struggle head-on. Collaboration is important - together we can work on establishing concrete goals and steps for you to help overcome your current problems. As a therapist, I work with you to help you identify your desires and empower you to make those positive changes in your life. I understand that making the decision to seek help can be difficult, so I use an approach that is compassionate, direct, and non-judgmental to help create an environment where you feel supported in your counseling journey. I believe in taking the time and working on wellness slowly, holistically, and consistently. Just as physical health takes time and consistency, so does mental health. I look forward to helping you in any way I can!
